Eleven.

Today begins another week of testing and the final week of testing for most. My plan goes into action today. Lucky for us there isn't a test every day this week and that there are just four big ones.

Ben and I went for breakfast together since we had the first test together luckily. After we had eaten our Weetabix, we headed off towards the arena. Our entry time was at nine, but I suggested that we go there early and get ourselves warmed up.

It was eight forty-five in the morning. Ben and I had warmed up lightly in the gym before moving on the registration point. We scanned ourselves in and walked through the large double doors into the outer rings of the arena. There was a series of doors around the ring. I looked up and the mere height of the building overwhelmed me. It was indeed massive and at least double the height of the climbing wall, if not higher.

I remember when I was eight years old. Mum and dad took myself and Darla to see a show in London. It was a musical and performance. I can’t remember the name of it, but I remember being overwhelmed with the whole experience. Everything was so big and the show itself was magnificent. It was in the O2 Arena, and even though it was becoming a dated building at the time, it was still truly wonderful. The outside rings of that are the only way I can describe where I'm stood now.

Another desk lay in front of us which we walked over to, towards the man seated behind. “Hello. Welcome to this stage of the test. You will each enter the arena through different doors. The aim is to capture the flag. There will be five flags scattered around the arena. Reaching them will not be as simple as it sounds. They are each locked inside a safe in which a passcode will be required to unlock it. Scattered around the arena will be clues. You may need to find more than one to unlock the safe. Once you have a flag, you must protect it and make your way to the centre and place it on the stand provided. The five who do so will win one-hundred points. Those who unlock the safes will win fifty points. Remember that points are provided for any other various skills shown. We will be watching everything. Causing death to another opponent will result in failing out. Anything else is allowed. Here are your entry doors. Make your way over now for a nine o’clock start. You have five hours to complete the task or until all five flags are placed in the centre. Good luck.”

What a speech. It was so mechanical.

We took our door numbers and made our way around. I had door seven and Ben had door five. “When the doors open stay where you are. I'll come over to you. Protect yourself if need be.” I said.

What I didn’t say was that there obviously aren’t enough flags.
